Màiri Nic a’ Ghobhainn/ Mary Smith

Among Mairi Nic a Ghobhainn's many talents is the ability to make you listen to even the most familiar song as if you were hearing it for the first time.

She sings with a profound understanding of the Scottish Gaelic song tradition and with a deep respect for both the creator of the song and the tradition bearer who kept it alive and passed it on.

Additional information:
Taken from the Mary Smith album Sgiath Airgid on the Macmeanmna label, SKYECD27. Produced by Ian MacDonald. Engineered by Kim Planert at Secret Music.

Warning: some file downloads may take a long time if you are using a 56k dial up connection. Windows Media files are usually smaller in size than mp3s and may be a better option for non-broadband users. Audio clips may play better if you save them to your computer and play them from there.

To save a clip: right click and 'save target as' (Windows) or ctrl click and 'download link to disk' (Mac).
