Scottish Arts Council publishes investment plans
Investment in artists, innovation and flexibility was unveiled today (17 April) with the publication of the Scottish Arts Council’s £63 million spending plans for the coming year (April 2008 – March 2009).

Tune Up presents Burnsong on Tour
The sixth Tune Up tour of 2008 will present a unique body of work, penned and performed by a host of leading contemporary musicians: Emma Pollock, King Creosote, Future Pilot AKA, Karine Polwart, Kim Edgar, MC Soom T and Canadian singer-songwriter Michael Johnston.

Scotland’s visual artists head to New York and Amsterdam
Glasgow based visual artists Rob Kennedy and Karen Cunningham have been selected to take part in the Scottish Arts Council’s New York and Amsterdam residencies, providing them with the opportunity to meet and work with key figures and organisations in the visual arts and promote their work to an international audience.

Scottish bands take to the stage in Texas at SXSW 2008
Six rising stars of the Scottish music scene will travel to Austin, Texas next month to perform and promote themselves to over 7000 music industry delegates from around the world at South by South West (SXSW), supported by the Scottish Arts Council.

Scottish Arts Council invests £8m for more, wider, better participation in the arts
The Scottish Arts Council has today (12 February) launched Inspire, a major new Lottery fund for the development of exciting, innovative projects to inspire and encourage the people of Scotland to participate in the arts and become creative, imaginative members of a confident, cultured nation.
