To encourage new makers with a high level of creativity and skill, who have a viable development plan, to establish themselves as practitioners in Scotland. Funding is available to assist with maintenance and the cost of equipment for production.
Level of Grants: £3,000 – £8,000 |

Creative Development
|
£2,000 - £4,000 These awards are open to professional makers at any stage of their career. Grants are available to purchase time and/or additional equipment to develop new work for market or exhibition.

Professional Development
|
We support individual artists in most artforms to undertake professional development activities relevant to their artistic practice. We also support arts practitioners working at a professional level within the arts in Scotland, and their role in the development of the sector.

Applications accepted at any time up to 26 February 2010, but must be submitted at least 4 weeks before the project start date. |
A number of local authorities and development agencies operate regional schemes for crafts makers and visual artists across Scotland in partnership with the Scottish Arts Council. These grants normally range from £75 - £1,000.
Please note that you may apply either to the Scottish Arts Council or local authority for your project – you cannot apply to both simultaneously for the same project.
