Joint Audit Committee
The Joint Audit Committee is set up to help the Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Screen deliver their responsibilities for conducting public business and stewardship of funds.
The Committee ensures that there is an appropriate system of internal control to make sure that:
- Business is conducted in accordance with the law and proper standard
- Public money is safeguarded and properly accounted for
- Financial statements are prepared timeously, and give a true and fair view of the financial position of the Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Screen for that period
- Affairs are managed to ensure economic, efficient and effective use of resources
Reasonable steps are taken to prevent and detect fraud and other irregularities.
