Suzy has worked in visual arts and arts development in the US and UK since 1992. As an arts consultant, a local authority arts officer and manager of artist led initiatives she has supported the development of public arts through major commissions (including the Great Promenade Show), supporting training and professional development programmes for artists and planners (including Spaced in West Midlands) and developing public arts policies and funding streams (including Warwickshire and Blackpool). She has sat on many regeneration and master planning and planning partnerships securing significant new resources and early stage artist interventions. She is currently Visual Arts Development Officer in Dumfries and Galloway.
She is endlessly curious and inspired by the creative possibilities and tensions that working in the public realm brings to artists and its impact in defining power, place, play and aspiration in our shared urban and rural spaces. |
