Development of the Infrastructure and Support of Live Art in Scotland
This study aimed to identify if there was a need for a recognised infrastructure to respond strategically to new artist’s practices and ideas. It assessed the existing approaches and models that support both emerging and established Live Art practioners and investigated examples of good practice from other countries. It recommended improvements to enhance existing developments and support structures, and identified organisations that could potentially develop their role in supporting Live Art in Scotland.

A Sound Investment - workforce development in music education
The Scottish Arts Council commissioned RSAMD to undertake an audit of current training opportunities for musicians and teachers across Scotland. This report provides an insight into the ecology of the youth music sector, strengths and weaknesses of current provision and makes a number of recommendations for informing future policy decisions. These recommendations are not solely specific to the YMI but are aimed at a wide range of stakeholders in music education.

Aimed at artists, arts organisations, partners and other policy makers, the Quick Guides give a brief snapshot of the current context in each artform and in the areas of audience development and education, where specialist teams work across the organisation. The Quick Guides highlight priorities in crafts, dance, drama, literature, music, visual arts, audience development and arts education. The Scottish Executive's P6 Target: a report by the Scottish Arts Council on local authority attainment over three years. This report, based on data provided by each local authority, describes how each local authority met the Scottish Executive’s P6 target - ‘that by 2006 every school pupil in Scotland should be offered a year of free music tuition by time they reach primary six'.
