This year it runs April 26-30, through Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen and boasts a line up of over 100 artists, including home-grown talent as well as artists from far flung corners of the world. Belle and Sebastian will perform alongside Vashti Bunyan – her first Scottish appearance in 36 years – and others. Reggae artists U-Roy, Mungo’s Hi Fi and Top Cat will grace the Triptych stages, as will Arab Strap, Bill Wells, My Latest Novel, Mogwai, Freakmenoovers, Aphex Twin, The Long Blondes and JD Twitch and JG Wilkes, founders of one of Europe’s most notorious club nights, Optimo. |
| Included in Triptych is it's film programme. The 2006 list includes ‘Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey’, Charles Mingus’ ‘Triumph of The Underdog’, and ‘Festival!’, featuring vintage footage from Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and others. As in previous years, three enterprising film teams are given the opportunity to create and screen a documentary on the festival. |
