Showcase Scotland
January 2005
Showcase Scotland 2005 took place in Glasgow during January and provides a platform of the best of Scottish music, presenting them to delegates from the international music circuit.

Produced by Active on behalf of Celtic Connections and the Scottish Arts Council with funding from the PRSF, British Council Scotland and Highland and Islands Enterprise, the Showcase Scotland weekend has proven highly valuable in promoting Scottish music overseas. It directly benefits the artists who gain international exposure and the opportunity to meet the people who can help them build a career beyond our shores.

The range of talent in the Scottish music scene is wider and richer than ever with artists performing music from varied traditions and influences. This showcase ensures that Scottish sounds and traditions can increasingly be heard and enjoyed around the world. |
Showcase Scotland 2005 is the largest gathering of the international music community in the Scottish calendar; a chance for promoters, record labels, agents and the press to meet both the Scottish music industry and each other. However, the main focus is the vast array of performances which highlight the very best in Scottish Music.
