Frightened Rabbit

Frightened Rabbit is a four-piece Glasgow-based band – Scott (vocals, guitar), Billy (guitar, keys), Grant (drums, vocals) and Andy (guitar, bass, keys) who were supported by the Scottish Arts Council to showcase at SXSW in March this year

Originating in 2003 when Scott began playing solo shows under the name Frightened Rabbit, mostly in support of fellow art-schoolers Shitdisco, and recording all the instruments on a tascam 4-track recorder, he was joined by his brother Grant in 2004.

Live dates followed in 2007, including successful US gigs which culminated in a sold-out show at The Mercury Lounge in New York City, before the album was even available in the States.  The LP was remastered by Alan Douches after an intense spate of writing, rehearsing, recording and remixing, and re-released by FatCat in Autumn 2007, along with their debut single 'Be Less Rude'.

Midnight Organ Fight is the new album released by FatCat in April 2008, and demonstrates a progression in terms of songwriting, sonic depth and as a fully realised entity. Frightened Rabbit; Photo: David Gourley

Recorded by Peter Katis (Mercury Rev, Interpol) over a two-week period and mixed over the following fortnight, Midnight Organ Fight was conceived with the intention of creating a more coherent, 'pop' sounding album without forsaking the personality or passion of the band's earlier recordings.
