Unusual Suspects
Unusual Suspects Tune Up tour Live in Scotland
Put together by harpist and singer Corrina Hewat, the Unusual Suspects blend voice, fiddles, pipes, brass, harp, piano and drums into an extraordinary sound in a celebration of the best of Scottish traditional music. Their arrangements are always harmonious, and dance between full-throttled rampage and orchestrated finesse.

The tour also included a special date in Gateshead at the WOMEX conference and showcase event. For more information on their appearance there have a look at our profile on WOMEX 2005. |
The bands album 'Live in Scotland' was recorded at Eden Court Theatre in Invernesss and the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh. In a review of the groups live perfomance The Herald said...
'What a beautiful noise. All it needs now is an excuse to do this all over again - as often and in as many places as possible.'
The 2004 tour was a great success including an amazing opening performance at Radio 2's Folk Awards 2004. The CD 'Live in Scotland' features performances from that tour - fiddles and pipes allied to trumpets, trombone and saxophone and a repertoire which is both traditional and contemporary.
