Winter Words Festival 2006

Pitlochry Festival Theatre's second Winter Words Festival - Highland Perthshire's very own literature festival - is taking place from Thursday 26 until Sunday 29 January 2006, and over 20 internationally renowned writers will feature in a single weekend.

Over the four days you will have the chance to meet authors, browse the book fair, work on your own writing skills in one of the workshops and be entertained by literary stars and celebrities, including Joanna Trollope, Chris Bonington, A.L. Kennedy, Brian Rix, Elaine C. Smith, Christopher Brookmyre and Ian Rankin.

On the Saturday evening, there will be an unmissable event - Brian Rix with Elaine C. Smith. This could be your only chance to see these two giants of the comedy world together on stage.

The Sunday is Crime Writers' Day, with events and workshops with some of the hottest crime writers around, finishing with 'An Audience with Ian Rankin' on the Sunday evening.

Throughout the weekend, the festival authors' books will be on sale and they will all be signing copies after their events. The Book Fair will also have a selection of quality second hand books and an extensive range of books linked to the themes of Winter Words sessions and will be a great place to stock up on books for the new year.
