Puppet Animation Festival 2006
13 March - 23 April 2006
The UK’s oldest and largest performing arts festival for children and young people, the Puppet Animation Festival, returns in 2006 with the promise of another programme jam-packed with puppetry events throughout Scotland.

Scotland's national puppetry festival, the Puppet Animation Festival, will present more than 250 puppetry performances and workshops in over 130 venues for over 16,000 people throughout Scotland.
The support and promotion of Scotland’s own puppetry sector is a key function of the Festival. Every year, the core of the Festival’s programme has been provided by the 14 full-time puppetry companies based in Scotland. Over the past five years these companies have presented their work to over 700,000 people throughout the UK.
As well as the five-week programme of live puppetry performances covering all areas of Scotland, Argyll & Bute will be home to a programme of film animation performances. |
This year, Red Kite Animations make a welcome return following their first series of workshops at the festival last year, and Flotsam and Jetsam Theatre will also host workshops throughout Scoland. Angus Arts has a full programme of workshops for the festival, all of which are for children and adults alike.
|
The workshops include:
- making and performing with shadow puppets
- puppet making drop-in workshop - from one hour to a whole day
- laundry magic - the most unlikely items can make the best puppets
