Focus on: Vanishing Point's Space 11 project
|
 |
Since September 2004 Glasgow-based theatre company Vanishing Point has been running a Shared Resources Project with support from Glasgow City Council and the National Lottery through the Scottish Arts Council. |
This project provides emerging theatre companies with comprehensive office resources, and a creative environment in which experience, advice and information can be shared by all companies involved. The purpose of the project is to maximise the amount of time the companies can all spend doing what is really important: making adventurous, ambitious new theatre for a new generation of audiences. The project has so far been immensely successful and Vanishing Point hope to continuing leading the project into the future.
The first four companies to benefit from this initiative were ek Performance (Pamela Carter), Fire Exit Limited (David Leddy), Random Accomplice (led by Julie Brown and Johnny McKnight) and Vox Motus (led by Jamie Harrison and Candice Edmunds). Vanishing Point has since welcomed Stammer Productions (led by Colette Sadler) on board.

| David Leddy was recently the first person in Scotland to complete a practice-based PhD in theatre. Following the huge success of Home Hindrance, his collaboration with Vanishing Point, he is now preparing for a busy autumn with a new sonic art installation at the CCA and a trip to Japan to record and research his upcoming piece Sei Shonagon. |

2007 has seen Random Accomplice tour with Little Johnny's Big Gay Adventure to Prague, secure a writing commission for REUNION (2008) and begin work on new show Little Johnny's Big Gay Musical for this year's Glasgay! Festival at the Arches, Glasgow, in October. |

| Following the success of How to Steal a Diamond, Vox Motus are developing two new productions. SLICK will premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe 2008 and Bright Black combines black art magic and dance in a collaboration with choreographer Natasha Gilmore. |
