Scottish Ballet's Autumn Tour 2006

For the first time since 2002, Scottish Ballet is very excited to be setting out on a tour reaching far and wide across Scotland. Performing in smaller, more intimate venues around the country, this tour sees Scotland's National Dance Company bringing dance to audiences from the Highlands to the Borders. These shows give dance lovers across the country a unique opportunity to experience an up-close-and personal performance from exceptionally talented dancers.

The programme showcases works by Scottish Ballet Artistic Director, Ashley Page, who was recently awarded OBE for services to dance as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours list.  This varied programme sees sensual pieces such as Walking In The Heat, Refurbished Behaviour and Acrid Avid Jam sitting alongside quirky, colourful diverts from Scottish Ballet's acclaimed production of The Nutcracker.

The tour also includes two premieres: Ashley Page's theatrical Room Of Cooks is being performed in Scotland for the first time, and award-winning Scottish Ballet dancer Diana Loosmore makes her choreographic debut with spirited pas de deux Sirocco, which gets its world premiere on this tour.

The tour travels to Perth, Ullapool, Galashiels, Stranraer, Stirling, Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Elgin, finishing at Oban's Corran Hall on 26 October.
