Crafts projects highlight activities relevant for Scottish craftsmakers. This month there are details of the visit by Scottish Crafts Curators to The International Crafts Fair in Munich 29 February - 3 March 2008.

Craft work can be made for galleries and the environment as well as for specialist retail markets.  There are strong applied art and design departments within Scotland's colleges of art, where new technologies are being harnessed to enable makers to integrate digital and hand processes.

Scotland also has a wealth of contemporary crafts which have their origins in indigenous cultures.  In these crafts, practice is developed through being passed on in communities rather than formal education.
